Thanks everyone for all the help. I really appreciate it.
The 0 files decoded still effects Xnews test 2006
It happens when there is a missing part at the begining or near the
begining of a multipart file (could also be due to problems with the server
at that particular moment that Xnews is trying to download that part)
If the missing/corrupt part occurs suffieciently further down 1/3 0r 1/2
say! Then if you have smart decode/autoresume on {it will mark it - the
detail of it is in Xnews cache- temp folder also the downloaded portion
will have filename.error.number} is supposed to able to
know that last part in that particular binary.
ie it will only download the parts that havent been downloaded yet
I say supposed to because it doesnot
It will go to the begining of the incompletely downloaded file and start
all over again
This bug occurs only the above scenario of perhaps bad connection to the
derver or orcorruption in the binary.
For that reason it dont use Xnews for downloading binaries
GOOGLE "smart decode" and"0 files decoded" and you will see that other
people have had that problem.
The one i use will either download it as incomplete - which i can repair
with pars.
Or spit out an error message if the corruption is insurmountable
.
