I would like to know about some useful text based news readers for
Slackware Linux.

Thanks in advance for any help.

A.

I suspect that slrn is the most popular among newsgroup participants that
stick to rudimentary yet powerful environments. Judging by User-Agent
statistics in various Linux newsgroups, there seems to be little or no doubt
about it. Please take my words with a barrel of salt as I have no hands-on
experience with slrn.

My guess would be slrn, as well with some flavor of vi -- with Gnus and
tin following (not necessarily in that order).
