If I cannot view the pictures as I click on then in Xnews then what is
the point of adding LaunchTypes etc to the ini file?
Paul
Special / Setup Xnews / Files / Attachment Handling
Now that you know where it is in the GUI perhaps you can get it to do
what you want?
The concept is that you add extensions to a list and when Xnews
encounters those types of files it will save/launch them in the
associated viewer. This only works for single part binaries and you must
also chose to auto save the file before launching.

Ok If I have to save the pictures to a folder before I can see them that
kinda defeats what I want to do. I want to see them BEFORE I save them
because I might not want to save them at all if I do not want the pictures.
However some of the pictures are so big that if you see them using Xnews
then you have to scroll this way and that - which I hate. So I put Jpeg=0 to
stop that display but now I cannot see the pictures at all. I was told by
putting in LaunchTypes=.jpg|.jpeg then I would see the pictures in irfanview
and THEN I could save them.
It seems to me a waste of time putting LaunchTypes=.jpg|.jpeg into the
options GUI because they are not Launched before being saved. Are they?
Perhaps a right click option could be included in the next update of Xnews
to show the pictures in one's own viewer (which is sized for seeing the
pictures without scrolling). or better yet, some sort of size reduction
control for the large sized pictures that posters use. (Why they do that
beats me).
To have to save large amounts of files only to delete them moments later
seems utterly stupid.
