[Xnews] displaying pictures.

I want to disable display of pictures in Xnews because I hate to keep
scrolling up and down and sideways. I was told to add to the Xnews.ini file
Jpeg=0
and that works just fine ...
but I still want to see the pictures in a smaller format and I was told to
add to the Xnews.ini
LaunchTypes=.jpg|.jpeg
which does NOT actually launch the pictures.
I use Irvanview as my pictureviewer.
If I cannot view the pictures as I click on then in Xnews then what is the
point of adding LaunchTypes etc to the ini file?
