you mean, replying to selection?

actually you would need to add, for instance between +%d and '%s' the
commands for vim to delete what it inserted (so to say, the whole
article as it is displayed in the pager) and insert the "clipboard"
buffer

try

vim -f '+set tw=72' +%d +'sil:.+1,/^$/-1d' +'sil:-1r!xenor-paste|xenor-quote' '%s'

I will play with it.

make sure xenor-paste and xenor-quote are in /usr/local/bin or /usr/bin
or wherever that is mentionned in your $PATH

f to reply, Esc-f (or alt-f if your keymap agrees) to reply to selection
(whole lines)

apart from this, any problem with the Esc-c command that collapses
quotes in the pager?
