Since, as I mentioned in my followup to my own post, new/not-new isn´t
important to me and I only care about read/unread, I found the bold
entries distracting; they were kind of like shouting. I resolved that
issue by making *all* the headers in the header pane bold -- still keeping
my setting of black-on-white for unread and grey-on-white for read. :)
