I loved calculus! I actually failed it my senior year in high school.
Didn't fail totally because of the "curve." Did get a call from
Skidmore, though, when they saw the D. Threatened to take away my
financial aid and even my acceptance. I got a C second semester (curve,
again).

But, while I almost failed (really failed) in high school (too much
social life, drinking, drugs, etc.) I signed up for Intro to Calculus
when in college because I found it tons of fun. I always followed the
instructor on the chalk board. The translation to doing it myself on
the paper is what killed me in hs. In college I was able to hold the
knowledge and translate it onto the paper.


Okay. I'm going to give you a hundred words to explain the calculus to
me. If you succeed, we are BFF, and I'll have your back, 'kay?

Oh, no. That information has long since left the building. It was '88 or so that I was in the class.
