So last night I decided to hang out at the yacht club for a
while, as I
do a few times a week. It was a gorgeous night, warm and
sunny, so I
stayed outside at sat at one of the patio tables. There was a
board
meeting going on inside so none of my regular crones were
outside with
me. This guy who I see there sometimes introduced himself and
struck up
a conversation. As we continued to talk, I noticed him growing
more and
more flirtatious. I tried to remain polite while keeping my
distance,
but he wouldn't get the hint. He must've asked me three times
to go to
his boat with him, and I said no, no, and NO. He would not
back off. I
went inside to the ladies' room and left my cigarettes and
lighter on
the table. When I came back out, he was gone -- and so were my
cigarettes and lighter. Of course I knew he took them; he had
been the
only person out there besides me, and it was a slimy tactic to
try to
lure me to his boat. No freakin' way was I going there alone
so I went
inside, told my girlfriend what happened, and we walked up and
down the
docks looking for his boat, as I shouted, "Carl, you
slimeball, give me
back my smokes!" We never did find him, as I suspect he was
hiding from
two clearly pissed off chicks.
Fucking jerk. I see him there tonight, I'm going to knock him
on his ass.
Thanks for listening, I needed to vent.
Well whaddya know. Cigarette smoking is hazardous to one's
virtue, too.

Pay no heed to the knockers, PJ. I've been a smoker since the
last year of World War II (a rather stressful time for the
majority of people in UK).
Never a heavy smoker, I always told myself that if the time ever
came when I thought it was affecting my health or (perish the
thought) that I could no longer afford it, I simply would not buy
cigarettes any more -- and I meant it.
Neither happened so far, and I continue to enjoy my moderate
smoking.
(But if I ever believe it to be affecting my health or it becomes
beyond my means . . . well, you know?)
Bernie.
Neither came to be
Neither happened
