Ray Haddad goes:

Wordpess is both a site which hosts blogs and a site where you can
download your own and install it on your own server. As such, it is
VERY powerful - much more so than the freebies you use.

You're wrong. One is WordPress.com and the other is WordPress.net. wo
different things. The blogs they offer are quite different, too.

No. Wordpress is a PHP and MySQL program that resides on a private
server. Those other two are, indeed, wimpy imitations of the real
thing. The blog is 100% your own when you do that. And far more
powerful for all the plug-ins you can install.

So where is this power? What does the power allow them to do? In what
way are their powers greater than those of Blogger, which has many
many times more users?

Who cares how many users there are? Is that so important to you? You
can't believe that the number of users increases your readership.
Both Blogger and Blogspot have come under fire because of the click
through rates being inflated by the spammers. The same spammers who
come by here trying to get you to go to
http://(dorkyspace).blogger.com - or whatever - so they can earn
pennies per click. You want more readers? Learn what an SEO is and
how to set one up. Comes included in Wordpress. Or you can add a
third party one - your choice.

You want power? I'll set up a temporary Wordpress blog for you to
use. Then I'll send you off shopping for plug-ins that will put
anything else out there to shame. All free.
