Note that you have made the assumption that I consider that particular
statement to ring true in light of experience and, since I've not
previously mentioned it specifically, that implies that you think I'm
a "christian" who takes the whole hairball as holy writ. I am not a
"christian", in fact most Christians piss me off because (a) they are
not, and (b) it implies that Jesus was some kind of Christ (which I
strongly doubt, I consider him an also-ran in that category).

All right, then what "simple statements" did you have in mind?

Nonetheless a familiar chewtoy is handy when one's teeth need
exercise.

You're talking drivel. The order to love one's enemies says nothing
about sharpening one's teeth on them.
