Hi everyone,

I know there is decent software for both.
I'm on pc now, but kinda leaning towards mac. I don't know if there
are issues in compatability or not when sending queries or copy thru
email.

I use Windows (XP and Vista), OSX and Linux on a regular basis.

If you're going to be looking at the screen for long periods of time,
OSX (Mac) has much nicer anti-aliasing of screen fonts than Windows.

The main issue with Linux is the lack of fonts included in the
distributions, but that has been improved in recent years with the
"Core Microsoft Fonts" being available as an optional add-on for most
distros. "Ubuntu" is a fantastic option for non-technical users.

Compatibility-wise, Windows rules purely because everybody in the
commercial world uses Microsoft Word. Compatibility to that format is
provided through "Pages" or "NeoOffice" in OSX, or "OpenOffice" in
Linux. Pages, NeoOffice and OpenOffice are fine for basic documents,
but the compatibility starts to break down with complex footnotes,
revisions and tables of contents.

If the format of your finished work is not important, I would choose
the Mac every time. My Macbook routinely lasts 7 hours while running
TextMate (very good text editor btw).
