You're gonna need to figure that out at some point. If you were
dealing with a dog that attacked you repeatedly, you could prolly use
appetitive/aversive conditioning assisted by chunks of steak and a
baseball bat. Hoomins is more subtle critters, and often behave as
pack animals.
Humans, however, are susceptible to plonkage. Heh.
You can run away but you can't hide, some fuckwit always responds to
the guys in your killfile (unless they are rilly, rilly lame to the
point where nobody responds to them). Discernment beats plonking
every time.
The killfile isn't a matter of running or hiding -- I've already seen
a few quoted attacks. It's simply a matter of turning off the ringer
when a persistent nut keeps calling.
The smart amusing flamers, the Maughans and Fundocs and Hopes, can
flame me all they want. So can the serious ones, e.g., Gekko and
Donna. But Stan is too much of a bore to bother with. Like the yapping
lapdog in the yard, he achieves his small effect through obsessive
repetition, by mocking and mocking and mocking, by daring you to hit
back.
The killfile deprives Stan of that weapon. He can still lame, but his
lames are in and of themselves no more effective than Zero's and
Sylvia's, that is to say, so plumb dumb that I'm not even tempted to
respond.
