Alan Hope <not.alan.hope@xxxxxxxx> didn't ask about the significance
of the number 42 in the Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy series, but
DID present the following for evaluation in misc.writing:
There was a time not so long ago when there was no such thing as a
racist term,
It is the attitude, the actions that are evil, Alan.
The terms are just posturing.
Put down the term *when* they are racist and *when* they are used to
put down another human being for his color or sex or religion. Put
down the term when they are used to *teach* others to put down
others.
Do not froth and moan and piss when they are not used that way.
The rest of your post is peppered with overstatements, fantasies, and
lies in among the obvious truths you bore us with. I've done you the
favor of hosing it.
I did read it, though. Mostly. And laughed.
