Oh. I thought this thread was about Mr. Stan.
IAAS, you know.
The set is in the field across from us
and I wasn't to worry if I heard the guns. He'd be laying
poison tonight and the dogs would dig the weakened
animals out in the morning. I should keep our pets under
control on our property until it was all over. I asked if
he'd allow me to join them and write it up for the local rag
with pictures. He said no. Tempting, isn't it? Nice view
of the copse over our fence. Big zoom on my Panasonic.
Hold the front page!
I never understood the reasoning behind hanging the corpse on a fence.
Is it supposed to be a kinda sorta "And, Tell Yer Friends!" warnin'? Do
they think the other foxes call a special meeting to discuss the matter?
If so, what effect are they expecting this would have on the foxes?
"I trotted past Mr. RJM's north fence today and saw Fred hanging
there."
"Why? Was he hoping he'd get a lift to the village?
"Ummm... no, Fred was *really* HANGING there. He's not likely to be
going anywhere else."
"Oh. Bummer."
"Yeah."
<moment of silence>
"So, the farmer's missus's chickens are up for grabs, then, yes?"
"This is what I'm thinkin'.
