Broad statements like yours, in a society where laws are so different,
depending on where you're standing, are foolish.

There are areas --NYC would be one, I suspect, and so would D.C.-- where
any or all of the above acts would constitute "reckless endangerment" or
some similar charge.

In ?85 or ?86 an acquaintance pointed a gun --while his wife dialed
911-- at someone he believed was trying to steal his car. He tapped on
the window with the gun, and the putative thief took off, was
apprehended by a security guard who'd witnessed most of what happened.
The gun-pointer was cited.

In KY that sort of behavior would most likely get someone arrested in
Lexington, Louisville, or some of the Cincinnati ?burbs on our side of
the river.

All of that together constitutes "using" a weapon against a
"villain" who is committing a crime, and none of that is punishable.

Sure it is, and will be in some jurisdictions.
