Now your usenet communiques can be rated by readers at Google Groups.

Like Customer Reviews (Rate it) at Amazon.

Like Comments (Score:5, Funny) at Slashdot.

Like User Comments and User Rating (8.2/10) at Internet Movie Database.

So join Google Groups now and start rating those posts! You can even
rate your own... Once per message. Hurry! Don't let Ray Haddad get
there first. ;-)

you know what would make this far more useful AND entertaining?

if it showed who rated what, and how. by email name.

on the overall thread rating, you should be able to click on the
rating icon and have it display everyone's individual ratings
AND to which posts in those threads that they assigned ratings.

also, you should be able to check entire user ratings from individuals.

so, if you value someone else's opinion, (what are the odds?),
you could click on their "rater" button to check the list of
posts which they have bothered to rate. this would cut down
on wasted bandwidth quite a bit. as well as wasted time.

you could see how they rated their own posts as well.

it would be interesting to see how it all played out.

IOW: it would be just another massive timesuck.
