They no longer have to run for election. They do not have to pretend. They can simply do what they'd planned to do all along. Tell me -- would this be easier to swallow if they were better actors? If they were smoother?

I dunno -- it's how you feel about it I guess. I'd rather have a good leader than a good actor.

You have a different system than we do -- ours is a parliamentary system - we could chuck our head of the country out in a heartbeat or three, given an upsurge of condemnation by the electorate. Our guy/gal has gotta watch where they walk and what they do. Too many tight elections this way, lately -- nobody's safe in their positions, no matter what they think.

Down your way, there won't be another Presidential election until 2008 - about 3+ years or so away.

I'm asking a serious question here -- how easy is it for Americans to know that they're gonna have a lame-duck Pres around for another three years - one who can "simply do what they'd planned to do all along" as you said, and if he takes a wrong turn, or does some real idiotic thing -- you can't do a thing about it? Other than impeach and then convict the impeachment - and that's a long process, I understand - takes years and torn hearts ... how do you feel about that?

Seems to me, 2nd terms are cakewalks for Presidents (Clinton included, I'm neither red nor blue all the time) ... seems to me (an outsider, not American) you're left holding the bag for four years, with no options other than just stand by and watch it happen ...am I wrong to think that?
