That's nearly an impossible hypothetical. Besides, she doesn't have to be
"against war" so much as against this particular war for very particular
reasons. Yes, there are people who are against every military action
period, but they are few and far between in my experience. I think that it
is instead a question of the necessary threshold of justification for
military action that varies from person to person. In this case, Bush has
repeatedly referred to a noble cause being behind this war. If that's true,
then that's a pretty strong justification. All Ms. Sheehan has requested is
an elucidation of that noble cause of which he speaks. Surely that's not
too much to ask from the commander in chief after he's sent thousands of men
and women to their death or maiming and spent hundreds of billions of our
national treasure.
