Off topic ... but hey Scott. With your aviation background I thought
I would get your opinion on an accident that happened yesterday just
North of Ft. Worth, TX.

A Beech King Air crashed into a field in Aurora, TX while on it's way
from Oklahoma City to Meacham airport in Ft. Worth, TX.

Here is a link to the story:

http://www.star-telegram.com/news/story/1666863.html

The pilot ( who was seriously hurt in the power off emergency
landing ) reported that he had lost both engines.

What I was curious about is that there was no fire in the crash. And
it's odd that BOTH engines would flame out at the same time.

Do you think it was contaminated fuel ... or did the pilot run out of
fuel ... or what might it have been ?

Plus ... I guess I can't " arm chair quarterback " the pilot ... but
seems like he could have set the plane down in a better spot. Looks
like he set it down in a field and pancaked across a drinking pond for
cows. ( that's where the wing broke off and where the crew and
passengers sustained all the injuries )

But the weather was IFR I believe, so he probably didn't have much
visibility on his way to the power off landing.

Sad crash really.

Thanks

Chris
