I don't know of too many truck drivers it's been out here any length
of time that couldn't have told them the same thing without doing a
scientific survey. It is kind of interesting that someone finally did
a scientific study and reiterated what truckers have been saying for
years.
"Traffic tickets: protect and serve or protect and profit?
Can't get ticketed for what you ain't doin.
knows better. Furthermore Laws aren't intended for revenue enhancement
but for public safety. As for the gist of the article if you have a
problem with it write OOIDA & tell them about it. I think their more
spot on than you are.
Can't bitch about it if you were.
When people ask me for a smoky report, I tell them: "Keep your log up,
and
do the speed limit. There's your report".
Typical rookie comment.
Who, you or me?
When people ask me for a smoky report, I tell them: "Keep your log
up, and do the speed limit. There's your report".
That one.....right up there with "......you want some cheese with that
whine"
I usually just shorten it to "Wwwhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa".
I say that a lot.
Do you know why?
Because they're -whining-.
They're whining about traffic, or weather, or trucks going slow, or no parking spaces in the truck stop, or guys sitting at the fuel island.
But whiners will whine about anything.
I'm not a whiner.
Are you?
If some one asks me for a smoky report I either don't reply, and let
someone else give it, or give him the smoky report. If I don't want to
give the report I just don't say anything. I very rarely have my
logbook 100% current at any given time (like most truck drivers). In
my opinion logbooks have very little to do with motoring safety. But
then again so do the vast majority of laws aimed at the trucking
industry. I think in the 35 years that I've been driving truck I've
only had to pay one ticket for a logbook violation. That was 25 years
ago in Goodyear Arizona. There was only $50 .
Then you don't have anything to worry about, do you?
If somebody gives me a speeding ticket, you know, because I'm speeding,
-I- know who's to blame, and it's not aliens or the black helicopter crowd.
