Re: Convoy Arrives in DC

They can't or won't charge a sufficient fuel surcharge so they want the
government to do it for them.

Stop wasting time, fuel, and money fantasizing and implementing strikes and
road blocks until you have a specific legislative proposal that, when
implemented, will solve the problem. The government or the country isn't
going to just magically do the right thing because you shed enough tears.
If all the complainers have different plans to fix the problem there is
nothing to tell the powerful people when they ask "so what is it you want to
be done."

Amid all the media hysteria over the price of gasoline and the profits of
"Big Oil," one simple fact has been repeatedly overlooked: The oil
companies' earnings are just under 10 percent of the price of a gallon of
gas, while taxes take 17 percent. Yet who ever accuses the government of
"greed"?

I'll let you know how well it worked after I fuel up in the morning...
I'm thinking it did nothing.

It did nothing more than waste the fuel that it took for all those
trucks to cram themselves into Washington D.C., thus driving up demand,
and the price.

It's funny when you think about it...These drivers are protesting the
price of fuel, and the fact that it's supposedly driving them under, yet
they have enough money to spend to drive the trucks miles upon miles to
protest what they can't afford.

Do you know the biggest story that came out of this? Truckers blowing
red lights. All people will remember is that trucks were demonstrating
their total disrespect for the traffic laws by trying to stay with the
rest of the pack. That and a few train horns that were blown too to get
people's attention.

And drivers wonder why no one takes us seriously.
