926A states clearly that transportation of ANY weapon must be met by
the conditions set forth.

Have you even looked up the law Bullis?

*******************************************

Title 18> Part 1> Chapter 44> § 926A

§ 926A. Interstate transportation of firearms

Notwithstanding any other provision of any law or any rule or regulation
of a State or any political subdivision thereof, any person who is not
otherwise prohibited by this chapter from transporting, shipping, or
receiving a firearm shall be entitled to transport a firearm for any
lawful purpose from any place where he may lawfully possess and carry
such firearm to any other place where he may lawfully possess and carry
such firearm if, during such transportation the firearm is unloaded, and
neither the firearm nor any ammunition being transported is readily
accessible or is directly accessible from the passenger compartment of
such transporting vehicle: Provided, That in the case of a vehicle
without a compartment separate from the driver?s compartment the firearm
or ammunition shall be contained in a locked container other than the
glove compartment or console.

********************************************

This law does not address the issue of having a firearm for protection.

This law is in regard to the transportation of a firearm for a one time
purpose of moving it from a point of purchase to your home.

Thus, if in the course of transporting that gun home, you enter into any
jurisdiction with laws on the books that prohibit any weapons of any
sort in any motor vehicle, this law is supposed to supercede those local
laws.

Three points of criteria must be met in order to qualify for this
Federal override;

1) The firearm must have been purchased in a location where it is legal
for one to place it in a motor vehicle for transport;

2) The destination where you are taking the firearm must be in a
location where it is legal to transport a firearm as described above;

3) A reasonable demonstration of recent proof of purchase of the firearm
must be available at all times that the firearm is in the vehicle.

This does not give any driver the legal right to carry a loaded
shotgun in the truck to defend himself with, as your original question
indicated.

I'm sure he can read that for himself, and understands it far better
than you do.

You previously claimed otherwise, and offered that it WAS legal to do
so, under "Federal laws" that "always" supercede state laws.

Nice reversal bozo.

As you quoted above, the "passenger compartment" could very well
include the sleeper berth. So having a weapon inside the cab is
illegal.

The side box or in a compartment under the bunk is quite sufficent for
meeting the requirements set forth in most states for legal transport in
a motor vehicle, where allowed to have them in motor vehicles.

Oh and about firearm permits on the federal level. There are two of
them. One is for the sale of firearms, and the other is for
manufacturer, neither of which may be used for personal reasons and
both MUST be retained on the premises of the business at all times.

Who even brought THAT issue up?

No one. At least not until now.

So no, jackass, you ain't got no legal federal permit to carry. There
ain't no such thing.

This is why you piss people off Bullis.

No one I am aware of has made such a claim.

So why call Chris a "jackass"?

You ignorant idiot.
