There is a good reason we sell oil to Japan.......shipping costs.
Think about it.
From Alaska to our Southern states is 4000+ miles.So we ship our oil to Japan and buy oil from Mexico which only needs to be
From Alaska to Japan is 2000 miles.
shipped a few hundred miles.
Because oil is priced on the world market the price of oil in Alaska, Japan,
Mexico and the U.S. is the same.
