After reading the response all I can say is "to each his own", I
guess. I can't justify buying a GPS system right now. Between my
atlas (which I purchase new every year) and my laptop (using S&T,
Mapquest, Google Earth and other web based programs) I always seem to
be able to find my destination with very little trouble. And I always
know where I am...I don't need a $200-$500 gizmo to tell me that. But
if a GPS unit works for you thats great.
I completely agree. Unlike many of the truckers I deal with on a
daily basis I seem to be one of the few that operates on a budget.
Lots of gadgets are neat and all, but who has money for them all. I
get around fine without a GPS as well. I kinda laugh at the dudes
with the GPS units lit up brightly on the dash driving down the
interstate. Does that thing show mile markers going by ? What's the
point.
However, I think it's just a matter of time before I DO buy a GPS
unit to make multible drops easier. I think I agree with Scott the
most, best to wait until prices drop even more ... and more features
are added to lower priced units.
