This Petro location has gone biodiesel crazy. Practically since
biodiesel was offered, Rochelle jumped on the bandwagon and converted
half of it's pumps to BD. Lately, BD prices have skyrocketed to the
same price as regular diesel. While increasing the regular diesel
price a whopping 15 cents.
While the Roadranger and other diesel provider at the same
intersection sell regular diesel alone at the lower price. IMNSHO,
this act of profit markup and gouging, is only going to hurt them in
the long run. As fewer and fewer drivers opt out at buying the fuel at
the higher prices.
If you own your own truck, fill up at the roadranger and tell Petro to
shove it. If you're a company driver and the company insists you fuel
there, request that they change fuel stops PDQ.
Other than for parking and other services, boycott the fuel.
Nice to see so many people got to mouth off on this one.
I was not concerned as to whom was selling biodiesel, rather, the
price at which they sold it.
You have 3 places on the same block as to where you can buy your fuel.
Why are you going to buy it at the place that charges an outrageous
obvious profiteering price?
FYI, the petro does clearly mark the rating of the bio crap at 11%.
If you are a company driver and your company strictly forbids you to
pump bio crap into their trucks, and you do it anyway, because you're
a dumbass who can't read, guess who's gonna pay for the repair job?
There may be no federal law mandating notification, but you can bet
most states require some form of notification on the pump. But what
does "may contain" mean? Either the fuel contains additives or it does
not. Consumers need to know this up front.
Back in 1974, unleaded was introduced. At that time I was a glorious
pump jockey. Some people came in with their gas guzzlers and wanted
this new "premium" fuel. I refused to pump it and tell them that the
fuel would harm their engines. Also that year, I had purchased a new
Barracuda which could run on either because the manufacturers did not
know at the time what effects the new fuel would have on the engines.
Same is true now with this bio crap. Willie Nelson, founder of
biodiesel, obviously did absolutely no testing on diesel engines to
see what damage would be caused. He just figured that if the crap was
good enough for cars, then it should be good enough for diesel.
But if you stupid idiots want to pay 15 cents higher for the same
fuel, then don't let me stop you. I'm not buying any fuel at Rochelle
Petro.
I really don't know what you're bitching about. All the research I did
always said that biodiesel was going to cost more. They're going on the
green issues trying to fool the public it's good for the environment when
now the new studies show it's not so good. All it's going to do is raise the
price of regular diesel. Now that's stupid.
