I don't care about being governed anymore, it was a done deal when it was
suggested. I do (DO) think that all vehicles on the highways should be
maxed at the same speed. I know it's not going to happen 'cause the
petroleum and auto industries won't let it get off the ground, but those
cars that terrorize the highways would talk a different story if they put
the foot down and the only sound would be the shoe leather hitting the
carpet.
Could you give some references on how the oil companies control the speed
limits. And please list some good links and not just what you think. I'd be
real interested on seeing just what they've done.
I think what the the poster was alluding to was that the oil companies
have a tremendous amount of influence in Congress and the state
legislatures. I don't think one can argue with that. Those
governmental bodies are the ones who have the power to set speed
limits. Now, notice I didn't say the oil companies CONTROL the
lawmakers, though many would, but they DO exert alot of influence.
