Well in your post Zeke you stated you pulled off in the nyack brake
check area and to me that would have been an opportunity to say hey and
offer up some advice. I couldnt count how many times Ive taught someone
how to adjust their brakes as a PROFESIONAL DRIVER taught me out in
Arizona droping off Flag toward Pheonix.
I never went to trucking school and I never had a trainer. I started
backing in trailers at an egg processing plant and got pretty good at
that so my boss let me do the farm run. I had no c.d.l. just a 1974
Autocar with a 48 foot trailer and farm plates which was legal for me to
drive. My first run the boss sat in the passenger seat and showed me
where to go and I was on my way. About a year later I got my c.d.l.
All i'm saying if you do take the initiative to try to help someone
learn then dont bitch about them. If someone was bothering me that bad I
would call the state highway patrol and get them the 3 point major
violation that they deserve!

You've got a good point but not everyone is going to take the advice in a
positive way. I wish they would because we could be self governing and it
would be like I was taught. The "ole timers" instructed the new drivers how
to do things. The drivers that have years of experience can always have
something to add. I know I'd listen. But just how do you know the
information is the right way to go? I'm not talking about this idiot with
his brakes because that's beyond stupidity but the little things that can
improve our driving. I sure wouldn't want some lecture from some $2000 CDL
school graduate. I guess you have to decide if the driver is creditable or
not.
