Also I believe Sirrius has all the NFL & will be getting NASCAR (Which
XM currently has) so these are some other HOT items.
I know - I mentioned those.

I am now wondering about XM or Sirrus radios and which is the preferred
Satellite radio for truck driving. My youngest has graduated from high
school and moved out. Thank God! I finally have my home phone back and
the peace and quiet is a blessing. I am making plans to get back on the
road, but it has been some years. I am getting very good information on
all the questions I have posted and I really thank everyone who has
stayed
on subject. I promise when I get back on the road I am not gonna hang in
the left lane. I know it's not the "fast lane", just for passing slow
RV'ers.
Well, the obvious answer is "It depends on what your preferences are".
I
personally prefer XM over Sirrus for a number of reasons. First off is
their
programming. When it comes down to it, they both are pretty comperable
with
their music-only stations, it's the addiional programming that makes a
difference. Sirius has Howard Stern, & Martha Stewart. XM has Opie and
Anthony, Ron & Fez, Oprah, & Ellen Degeneras. Sirius has NFL, NHL (some
games, XM carries some games as well), NBA, and CFL. XM has MLB, NHL, Indy
Car and NASCAR (although NASCAR races are moving to Sirius next year, XM
will retain their other racing programs), as well as a dedicated trucking
channel. Take a look at what programming each offers:

http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/CachedPage&c=Page&cid=1065475754115
Another thing to consider, IMHO, is that XM keeps putting money into
it's programming and product development. They have a broad range of
programming to attract a diverse amount of subscribers, and continually
work
on more and more programming. Sirius put all their eggs in one basket by
signing Howard Stern for $500 million dollars, hoping that he alone will
bring in a huge amount of subscribing fans (it didn't work out that way).
Sirius' equipment, again, my opinion, is way behind the equipment XM
offers. XM just put out the INNO, which is basically a combination MP3
player/portable receiver for true, on-the-go listening live. Sirius has a
portable unit you must dock with a station, and download up to 2 hours of
radio - you cannot listen live with it. XM's units are much smaller and
less intrusive, compared to the large, bulky units Sirius offers.
And one last thing you may want to consider, is their finacial status.
As of Friday, XM (XMSR) closed at $13.46 a share, while Sirius
(SIRI)closed
at $4.47. That's pretty much where they stay, although I have seem XM
slightly higher.
So, it all boils down to what you prefer, I think it's obvious which
one
I have!
