times than not I'll talk with the driver if its not a big violation
instead of writing him. If the guy pulls an attitude, I still forgo
the ticket because calling their home office and letting them know they
employ an *** who wants to flagrantly violate traffic law and be
disrespectfull usually gets the job done.

For the most part, you all are a GREAT bunch of people. Ive had a long
LEO career and I have had a trucker stop more than once to help me when
Im alone on the side of the road fighting some idiot. I look forward
to joining your ranks in a few months after retirement. Be safe!!


Hey, man, let me pick your brain. You know how truckers try to
help funnel traffic and slow it down before a lane closure, right?
How do most cops feel about that? Seems that some appreciate it,
because we
believe that we slow down the maniacs and speed the overall flow. some
will write us a ticket. What's the law? What do most cops feel about this?

I dont see the problem with it Gringo. Keep in mind, ALL professions
employ a certain number of cocksuckers and assholes (Please excuse the
French) and law enforcement is no exception. In Florida the law states
that you have to drive in a safe prudent manner. I dont see whats not
safe and prudent about what your doing when your trying to slow
everyone up for a lane closure..... You sit way up in that cab with a
birds eye view! Most Cops dont mess with you guys (with the exception
of DOT). You all are professionals and considered allies out there!!
