I agree 100%. However - when certain types get tired of being ignored, and
take it personal e-mails with their threats, over and over and over again,
it becomes a whole new animal all together.

I agree, taking this to email is a different kettle of fish. That's why
it's wise not to use a genuine email address in any NG communication. It's
also important not to depend on anti-virus programs to indicate good/bad
email. Don't read any email from people you don't know, even from people
you do know but aren't expecting email from. If someon screws up and reads
one of his emails, don't let it happen again and don't reward him by telling
him how disturbed you are by his actions. If a teenager was ringing your
doorbell and running off, standing on your porch and yelling how upset he
has made you is exactly the whole point of the exercise. If someone decides
to get a vicious guard dog, or take shotgun practice while junior is on the
sidewalk, that's the punk's problem. Do the things that will work, not just
the things that won't work but are easy, and which also reward the stalker.

If someone is using Outlook or Outlook Express to read email, and presumably
NGs, you also need to change one setting which keeps email from
automatically displayed in the "preview pane". If someone attaches the
proper type of malware, you can be infected simply by opening or reading a
message. You don't have to open, execute, or run an attachment. In fact
you can be infected by visiting a web page, if it's maliciously constructed.
For details use the "help" feature of Outlook or OE and search for "turning
off message preview".

I can help with these techniques, to the extent I am able. Forward to his
ISP the offensive material, don't tell him how angry you are.Use this energy
to fix the problem not just doing the same ineffective things over and over.
Be smarter and win. It's the victory we all want isn't it?
