I think we all know how bad diabetics can be and how it effects their
driving. But the problem here is the company would not hire him based soley
on a disability which the state said was illegal. The driver had a medical
certificate from the Washington Dept. of Licensing to drive within the
state. The driver is claiming that the company only operates within the
state so the federal law would not be applicable as long as the loads stayed
in WA.

I tend to agree with the company on a safety aspect but they're really
stretching the law by claiming the operation is interstate because the
product starts in Alaska. The driver IMO lost because he was going up
against the corporate lawyers.
