No not really, about two years ago I changed insurance companies on my
car.
Company A reported the drop in coverage, company B screwed up and
didnt
the pick up. 4 months later sitting at a light as it turns green the
cop behind
me flips the lights. License suspended for lack of insurance. Gets
better, 3 weeks prior,
because I have MS, I had to submit a doctors statement that I was
still healthy
enough to drive truck, a copy of the long form of my DOT physical, and
an eye exam
to the florida department of transportation, drivers license division.
And a response back
just 4 days before the pull over that everything was in order and I
could continue to
drive truck. Copies of all of this were in my brief case in the back
seat, the only thing that
kept me from being jailed, or the car towed by jenny law, actually she
was a very nice person.
But she had no choice but to take my license, and I had to hire a tow
truck to tow
the car to my home. And then spent a 4 day wek-end with no wheels, a
cab fare to county court
to show that I had in fact maintained insurance, no lapses, copies of
both policies, and then a cab fare
to a drivers license office to get a replacement license and cab fare
home again. Insurance company B is no longer employed by me. All
told with cab fare and tow bill it cost me about $300.

Florida, 4 hours drug and alcohol course, no quota of time with
permit, pass writen
and road test and your licensed. No restrictions on hours, no
restrictions on passengers.
So 15 can get a permit, but if you want to get technical, a person
could get a permit on their
16th birthday, take the course, and then a road test and be licensed
in one day.
But heck, when I was growing up in NY, you got your permit at 16, and
if you took drivers ed
in school, passed the road test, you had no restrictions ether. Other
wise there were hours of
restriction for the first 6 months.

I just reviewed the florida drivers hand book, both for cars, and for
CDL, and no where
does the damn thing say anything about stopping distance from school
buses. gotta love Florida,
they are fond of telling us GD Yankees they dont care how we did it up
north, and it shows.
