The secert is to not run the software. Start/ settings/printers then click
on add printers.
let windows find it and then point it to the CD drive. All that installs
then is the drivers.
With a scanner let it load from the disc. I didn't get any "fluff" with the
scanner load, just
useful tools.

HP is king of Laserjet printers, but Epson rules the hen house when it comes
to ink jet,
and as for flat bed scanners think they have that market as well these
days. I must
admit though that I do not scan color, Black & White is it as far as negs
go..
And most Epson Scanners come with the newest version of Adobe Photoshop
Elements.
Probably the best "consumer" digital editing software on the market right
now.

If your really looking to scan 35 mm color slides, E-Bay has a ton, the
Nikon CoolScan
and Minolta Dimage are about the best, and can be found in the $200 range.
I am partial to
Minolta.
