How to block a pesky poster in the news group

Dave, it seems you are using Outlook Express, the mail/news program included
with MS Internet Explorer. The short answer to your question is yes, but.
If you use "Block Sender", OE will block newsgroup messages from a
particular email address. For example the kook formerly known as RTQ, or
whatever he calls his multiple personalities, is currently adopting the
public email adress I and other regular users have displayed. If you click
on one of RTQs messages, under whatever screen name he is displaying at the
moment, and he has entered say blahblah@xxxxxxxx as the email address for
that screen name, every screen name that uses blahblah@xxxxxxxx will be
blocked from your eyes.
Here is how to create a Message Rule in Outlook Express:
To create a rule for newsgroup messages
On the Tools menu, point to Message Rules, and then click News.
On the News Rules tab, click New.
Select the conditions for your rule by selecting the desired check boxes in
the Conditions section. ( check "Where the From line contains People" and
check "Delete It" below that.)
Select the actions for your rule by selecting the desired check boxes in the
Actions section. (That would be "Delete It".)
Click the underlined hyperlinks in the Rule Description section to specify
the conditions or actions for your rule. (click the hyperlink and then type
in the screen name to be blocked.)
Click OK, then press "Apply Now"
Look at the bottom of the grey box and make sure to browse to the news group
server or the specific news group in which to apply the new rule and then
press "Apply Now." You will never see that screen name again.
Let me know if some of this wasn't clear and I will try to help.
Scott
