I have done my time working in delivery, granted it was nothing like what I am getting into, but it taught me a lot. It irritates the holy hell out of people that I choose to give up right-of-way, don't talk on my cell phone when it's conveniant for them, and don't drive like a complete bumbling idiot.

Today I was watching the news here in Seattle on KOMO 4 TV, and they where discussing how dangerous some of the trucks where that are on the road and how people don't give them a single thought.
Wow! that does sound dangerous. People not thinking when driving down the road. Who'da thunk it.
To make a long story short, they cited that a majority of the accidents involving tractor-trailers & passenger cars where the fault of the passenger car.
Wait a minute... if the MAJORITY of accidents involving tractor-Trailers & passenger cars were the fault of the passenger car. Are these the same passenger car drivers that don't think? That makes it sound like CARS are the dangerous ones, and that people don't them them a single thought. Humm, media spin maybe? A reporter or General Manager who decided to ignore the statistics, or were to ignorant to understand what they were reading, and tried to start the story off with some B.S. about how dangerous trucks were, then had nothing to back it up. This really sounds familiar.
I was sitting there thinking to myself, on how smart does a person have to be to get a drivers license?
I seriously think a person can get a class "D" from a box of Cracker Jacks these days.
If they gave truckers the respect that they deserve, then the issues that happen in these accidents would be completely avoided.
Congratulations on being one of the few that get it! People need to remember that mirrors are not decoration, and can be used for more than checking hair and makeup. Like the story said, people just don't think
As a regular driver, I have always given right-of-way to semi's and busses, as they are a lot bigger than me, and I know that truck drivers in general are on a tight schedule, so why bother getting in the way or being a total idiot and cutting off them.
Thanks.
Anyhow, just kind of interesting how the article came into being.
Just regular news coverage, we hear it all the time twisted like that.
In general it amazes me how teenagers think they are invincible for the most part, let alone when there is a semi hot on their ass 'cause they cut them off.
Usually they are the ones that were flying down the road with a Cell phone in one ear and the ear bud for an I-Pod in the other, the only thing they see in the mirror is them selves, making safe driving the last thing in their heads.
