The Greenway is also privately owned/operated, and has significantly
higher tolls than the DTR. I can't imagine using it to commute every
day, although I have used it in poor weather because it seems to be
better maintained and less likely to go stop and go than any other
road going between Leesburg and DIA. I think now it's close to $5
each way for a passenger car and you get charged the full toll even if
you ony travel 1-2 exits!
Not quite true:

You're right, of course, but in practice it works out to about the
same thing, unless you are commuting west to east. e.g. if you are
coming from the DTR no matter where you get off you pay the full
toll. So you could conceivably exit at 606, which is not even a mile
past the toll booths, and you will still pay $4.45 or $5.25 depending
on time of day. Likewise traveling easbound if you continue onto the
DTR. Clearly the toll structure seems to be geared around people who
live to the west and are commuting to an office east of their
residence. Doesn't work too well for those in the opposite situation
(such as YT.)
I'm assuming it was set up this way because the assumption was made
that the majority of users were west to east commuters and for reasons
of cost savings from having to have toll booths at both the entrance
and exit @ each ramp.
