to get a bonanza of freebies. And since politicians know promising
stuff like that gets them rel-elected so they can keep their power
they'll continue to do it.
like you to find me any major politician in the last 40 years who's
encouraged self sufficiency.
handful...maybe. And since we can't stop the flow of politicians
promising entitlements maybe if we start threatening their jobs they
might get the message. I think that's the point of the health care
protests. A variation of Howard Beale/Peter Finch in "Network"
"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more!!"
