Conversations with passengers in your car have been shown to not be as
distracting as cellphone use. Maybe it's their actual presence, maybe
it's something more subtle, but the studies clearly show that
cellphone usage is much more distracting.

You keep repeating this like a mantra, but you never actually cite these
"studies" that you claim exist.

If you scan back, you'll find a review of the book "Traffic" that I did.
Chapter 3 addresses this subject. The notes in the back reference
many studies that support John's assertion.

I killfiled Kosar months and months ago because all he does is snipe
at any of my comments he finds objectionable. He knows I did this and
yet he continues to make his annoying little comments. If anyone
wants to find those studies, do an internet search for "cellphone
driving studies" and you'll find these:

http://unews.utah.edu/p/?r=062206-1
http://www.aaafoundation.org/pdf/cellphonesanddrivingreport.pdf
http://www.aaafoundation.org/resources/index.cfm?button=cellphone
http://www.hfes.org/Web/Pubpages/celldrunk.pdf
http://www.cmu.edu/news/archive/2008/March/march5_drivingwhilelistening.shtml
http://www.psych.utah.edu/AppliedCognitionLab/ (links to many more
studies)
http://www.nsc.org/resources/issues/factsheet.aspx

Now that was with a 1 minute search on the internet, and took no
special search phrase to find. Kozel's "well, you never list these
studies you always talk about" comment is intellectually lazy and
dishonest as well, since he ought to know full well that these studies
exist and what they say.

So in short, Scott, since you persist in reading (and commenting) on
my comments, how about you STFU on this subject and stop sniping at
me?
