You don't understand, and you have fallen into the trap of the
southern poliiticans.
And what is a "Southern Politician"?
Legislatures in NC, SC, FL, TN, and so on.
As for Asheville and Greensboro? Could you come up and show what
exactly they are hurting...beyond the current slowdown in the
economy. And how they compare to the rest of the state. I have the
figures, take the time and show me.
Asheville was a bad example. But here is something about Greensboro
from the city website
Greensboro's overall poverty rate increased between 1980 and 1990 from
9.1 percent to 11.6 percent. The povery rate for Caucasians is 6.8
percent; the poverty rate for African-Americans is 20.7 percent.
Randy, first you back off from one city (Asheville). Then, you just
gave me an example from the other (Greensboro) with stats from 1980 to
1990. I am asking about now. Are the poverty stats you have given
me...from now or 1990? When you give stats like that please include a
link to the source. It will help your credibility.
<snip>
http://www.greensboro-nc.gov/Departments/Executive/MWBE/default.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greensboro,_North_Carolina#Demographics
About 8.6% of families and 12.3% of the population in 2000 were living
below the poverty line, including 15.8% of those under age 18 and
10.6% of those age 65 or over.
You don't get it. You, Kozel, and Elkins all pride yourselves and
"keeping taxes low". With the phony idea it benefits the economy. It
does not. That is the reason we have the mess we are in now. The
dollar is about worthless and the govt is printing more of them.
Randy, am i incorrect in stating that you have bragged about non
paying taxes? What is an acceptable tax rate to you? what is the
definition of 'rich' to you?
<snip>
The three of you want small govt, no matter who loses their jobs in
cutbacks, but when I suggest two who work for govt should lose their
jobs, you don't like that.
Randy, no...what I don't like is that you want them to lose their jobs
just out of spite. Your saying it's for the "greater good" is a
shallow cover.
Again, you are grossly misinterpreting my views. Who do you think is
better at controlling your personal finances, the government of
yourself. Who do you think is better in deciding the best health care
choices for you, the government or yourself? Who do you think should
decide on where to invest your money, the government or yourself?
Do you trust the government, or you personal..as in yourself Randy
Hersh, to make decision in your general well being.
Firstly, where did I ever say I don't pay taxes? You made that one
up.
Are the shills on MTR paying taxes for the income they receive?
Jackie Baby, Conk, Kozel, now there is a pot shot.
How much longer do you suppose the "capitalist" health care system we
have now will continue to function? Now who is throiwng the
generalities out.
How much longer will your company keep paying 100% of your health ins?
And that is great as long as you don't get sick or don't have a bad
accident.
Don't let one of those *** truckers hit you. Guess who is going
to be the one to take care of you. GOVT. Unless you have a hell of an
ins policy. And even then, ins does not go on forever. Even though
you might think it does.
I guess you don't realize govt is running a deficit in the multiple
trillions. I guess as long as you don't have to contribute.
Guess who is going to bail out those investors that made all those bad
investments to the tune of $700 BILLION???? Plus saving major banks
that made billions over the last 20 years.
You are oblivious.
What is rich? Annual incomes $150,000+ They get all the
benefits, they should pay the most. Or maybe you are like Idiot
Richie, you are afraid they are going to pack up and leave.
You know Adam, you just want to be the biggest bully in the sandbox.
Which is fine by me.
Do you really think, I think if Kozel and Elkins lost their jobs,
they would become homeless and destitute. I don't think so.
But you certainly want them to, and you are proving my point. See,
you are only happy when people you dislike are miserable. You show it
time and time again..and even in this thread. that's pretty
despicable isn't it.
Like the ICC, the only reason you post things is so you can take a
potshot at Kozel. To the casual reader, that's what they think the
reason you are against and post about it. That's why Froggie and
others have asked you what are your real reasons, because more often
than not..it's not a stated reason of why...but your dislike for Scott
Kozel.
Unhuh, and I gave reasons what the money they are wasting on the
unneeded and stupid ICC should be spent on. And you are worried about
me picking on Kozel.
And you did say I-26 and the Cape Fear Skyway would be started in a
week. I am not going thrugh mounds of Google to find your quote.
You said it, sarcastically, but you said it.
Randy, I never have. Here, I'll help you out. Go to my blog entires
on the Cape Fear Skyway -
http://surewhynotnow.blogspot.com/search/label/Cape%20Fear%20Skyway
Take a few minutes read my blog entries on the Cape Fear Skyway...tell
me where I said construction on that project will start in a week.
You either have what I said confused with someone else...or you really
have no idea what you are talking about.
You see Randy...I'm not bullying you. What I am doing is challenging
your assertions in the arena or in your analogy "Sandbox" of ideas.
You see you being allowed and able to say whatever you want...doesn't
mean you can't be challenged on it. Now if you want to take your toys
and go home. that's alright.
Like I told someone else, I am not going anywhere. I will be on MTR
for a long time.
I really don't care who controls the NC legislature.
Well Randy, in a prior thread you said the legislature was controlled
by Republicans. It's not...North Carolina is at the state level a
strongly Democratic state.
Southern "Democrats" that would be Repubs anywhere else.
So as a result, your arguments are falling apart because of your own
admissions to not knowing what's going on.
They have a
history of giving away the store to get profitable businesses to come
into NC and provide $7 an hour jobs. In the meantime needed road and
transit projects remain undone and it only gets
worse.
Randy...can you name a few examples.
Pretty much every county in NC excepting maybe for Wake, and Buncombe.
When you are able to come to the "sandbox" with solid facts and
comprehension of what we are discussing. I'll be more than happy to
continue this discussion.
