Actually, recent polls have been showing gay marriage to be supported
by the majority of California voters.
Polls are polls, and can be made to reflect any opinion, depending on who
is queried. On a local level, that's certainly not what I hear. I find it
hard to believe there would be such a diametric shift in public opinion in
just 8 years.
The whole point from the beginning is that the issue is on the ballot in
November, and it is not the right of some judge to overturn the people's
decision. Especially since, if that decision stands in November, the
marriages that occured before hand will be declared null and void. How
humane is that?
We'll see what happens, but if I were in their shoes, I certainly would not
want my life to be hanging in the balance waiting for an election.
