You're right.
By 1933 MO 4 was moved to the former MO 18 (now US 136) west of
Stanberry, and the portion SW of St. Joe became MO 45 until the
commissioning of US 59.
The 1933 map of Kansas shows things a little different. It show MO 4
continuing to follow the original route southwest of Stanburry, not
switching to what is now US 136 until *after* US 59 was commissioned.
