Still I agree with the article. Teens nowdays are just plugged in and
have
no interest in the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping, and such are
stagnent or declining even as the population increases.

I'm not sure if that's true. While kids like their electronic toys,
they also like to get out of the house. Spring is here and there's
plenty of kids out on their own enjoying the sunshine.

I don't have any information about demographics, but it's been noted that in
Minnesota the number of fishing licenses sold has remained the same for ten
years even though population has grown. So you wonder if there's a waning
interest in outdoor activities. This question is especially relevant with
the Lake Vermillion State Park proposal. This area is adjacent to and was
originally suggested as an addtion to Soudan Underground Mine State Park
several years ago. US Steel wants to sell it and will sell it to a developer
if the state doesn't buy it immediately, recession or no, and they're asking
something in the area of $50 million for it.
