I survived the tornado but others did not

Hi Everybody,
I am sure you all know by now, my current home state of Tennessee got
hit very hard with the deadliest tornado outbreak since 1985. the
first round of tornados hit the Memphis and Jackson areas of west
Tennessee in the evening and destroyed on of the collages near
jackson, luckily everyone on campus survived but the collage looks
like an atomic bomb was dropped on it. The next round was the big one
that hit my area. The tornado touched down at the Williamson/ Hickman
county line and was on the ground for mostly 6 to 8 miles causing
major damage almost a mile wide and 6 to 8 miles long. Everybody
survived this but some ended up in the hospital with injuries.
This supercell storm that caused this tornado skipped over metro
Nashville/ Davidson County and followed the Cumberland River north
east and touched down again in a small village called Castalian
Springs, about 12 miles east of Galatin. This is where the major
destruction path started and is close to a mile wide and over 25 miles
long. It totally destroyed the local post office and houses in the
area, then it crossed into Trousdale County and a gas line pumping
station took a direct hit from this monster tornado. It exploded and
sent flames shooting 400+ feet high and could be seen from Nashville
30 miles away! It looked like the sun was setting, that's how brite it
was, and luckily nobody was there when it hit but it destroyed the
plant and charred the hillside. Then it crossed into Macon County and
hit the west side of Lafayette coming with in a half mile of one of
the Wal-Marts I stop at, I was just at that Wal-Mart last week before
all this happened.
President Bush was in Macon County yesterday where sadly the death
toll was highest. The tornado hit this area around midnight Tuesday
night and allots of people where already in bed asleep and for some
reason, this very rural county and town has no tornado warning sirens.
Myself and 15 other Cracker Barrel home office employees headed out
yesterday to the affected areas and handed out gold cards good for 2
free meals for the victims and volunteers. I can tell you all this, my
heart goes out to these people, from the air it looks like atomic
bombs were dropped for 30 miles, nothing stood a chance and to have
this happen at night made it all the more worse. I am glad that the
supercell storms passed just 15 miles north of my house and my county
(Wilson County) only got rain and some wind but the biggest light show
I have ever seen towards the north. It has been one crazy week this
week and it puts allot of things in perspective.
I have been frustrated at not finding batch C MBX but now I don't feel
as frustrated because at least my entire collection is intact but I am
sure there were some victims who were die cast collectors and lost
everything. There are different places set up to take donations, I
know in Fairview, Williamson county at the fire hall is one and of
course the American red cross has posts set up in the very hard hit
areas of Trousdale and Macon Counties. Wow, this is one long message,
sorry for the long read but after my adventure yesterday, I just had
to get the message out.
Thank You all for your support!! :)
