Just for example, about 6 months ago, in a several day stretch, John
Lansford posted at least 15 posts in responding to Larry's hollering
about how the state DOTs are in the wrong for not working on roadway
construction projects throughout the winter, and John was explaining the
effects of the prevailing temperatures and wetness (and sometimes
frozenness) of the ground, and Larry kept arguing about it and wouldn't
let it go. Actually, I don't believe that Larry was really that
ignorant, he was just trying to be a pain in the ass.
These bouts between Lansford and Gross have been going on for as long
as I can remember. Personally, I find them entertaining, if not
informative as well. (It's nice to have an engineer's perspective on
things)
John and I using get along fairly well and sometimes I do push a point
to his tolerance limits but Kozel has his own different version of
what dialog is about and this is another example., If IIRC this thread
was about DOT policy and there were several others involved in the
discussion including Kozel.
I make no bones about it. I'm a strong critic of VDOT in Virginia on
SOME issues and I'm not alone and Kozel receives criticism of VDOT and
some DOT policies in general as if it were a personal attack on him
and he plays in my view.. silly childish games at times... and not
just with me.
My attitude is always.. hammer on the issue, leave the personal
attacks out and if you don't want to read someone else's posts or you
just flat disagree but don't want to dialog about it.. then fine...
move that mouse and do your thing.
folks who say they don't want to listen/dialog but then play hit and
run character attacks and then go hide in the closet (killfilling) .
asking others to "check" on who they want to play hit and run on again
is .. I have to be honest here.. a behavior/character that I don't
particularly admire.....
