Sim City Societies debuts this Thursday. Depending on where you pre
order it at, you can get a collection of different structures as
bonuses. It does _not_ have a great resemblance to the Sim Cities of
the past, so if you are looking into constructing a massive
transportation infrastructure, you may have to try elsewhere.

I'm really dissapointed that EA/Maxis did not go in the direction of
improving/enhancing SimCity 4, that was the only PC game out there
with any "Road Geek" appeal.

At least there's enough free plug-ins available to keep SC4
interesting for some time.

How good was 4? I had the first 3, but was very disappointed with 3

Sim City 4 was quite a step up from 3. Transportation was vastly
improved, along with graphics and city realism. Various add-ons
greatly enhanced the stability and performance of cities, and they are
in great abundance.

My problem with 3 was that it seemed unnaturally hard to build a
bridge, unlike SimCity 2000

Go to your local Best Buy, Fry's or Target and get Sim City 4 DELUXE
for $19.99 (includes many cool bridges), Then once you load everything
up and running go towww.simtropolis.comand check out the ST-
Exchgange and the Mods & Downloads sections, your brain will explode
with all the free goodies available as well as an extensive help/
discussion forum. There is even a cool looking 4-Level stack availabe
for the game.

Granted you need a PC with a little Horsepower to run it smoothly but
it's a much, much better game than Sim City 3.

Sweet. I'll check it out on payday!
