Does anyone else here see a route designation that just ticks you off,
because there's no reason for it to be that way? For example, I hate
that OH 161 ends at OH 37 by Alexandria, instead of extending all the
way to OH 16 by Granville, which is how many maps show it anyway.
I'm actually not too fond of OH 37 at all. I like the portion near
Delaware, and I suppose the part between Johnstown and Alexandria
should stay, but between OH 161 and Lancaster has to go. Here's a tip,
ODOT: A route should have one general direction, such as northwest-
southeast, instead of taking a different one every 5 miles.

I've got a few for the two states that I've lived in for quite some
time: Oregon and Nevada.
First, Oregon:
The fact that they have two different highway numbering systems, the
posted route and ODOT's hidden highway designations rendered obsolete
in 1932...and that highway mileposting follows the LATTER! US-20 has
something like FIVE "MILE 1" signs from the coast to Idaho.
USDOT got what they asked for when they decided to stomp the local
numbering.
Also the
fact that OR-217 is a secondary state route despite its status as a
freeway (what's so wrong with OR-45, or better yet, an interstate
route once (if?) it gets upgraded).
Well, look where it runs: Beaverton, one second-rate town, to Tigard,
a rest stop on I-5...does it really need something more, or just
reversable lanes?
