Most folks probably realize that many new cell phones have minature
GPS receivers in them that allow the cell phones to transmit the
location of that cell phone to cell towers and ambulance, police, etc.
My question is that.. it seems that if a GPS receiver will embedd in a
cell phone.. that it could also easily embed in something the size of
an EZ-Pass transponder..
and my question is.. has this been done or is it being planned?
thanks
It's my understanding that the GPS info on cell phones is transmitted via the cell network. Since EZ Pass is a very localized transmit/receive situation it would only work within a short distance of the EZ Pass gate.
Just my two cents, right or wrong.
