All the ones I've attended have been well worth it, and I can't think of
any speaker that I didn't benefit from. Granted, the really big
projects have governors, U.S. senators, and big city majors as speakers,
in addition to military bands and processions, so they are memorable
occasions.

The most memorable highway ceremonies I've attended have been the I-95
Fort McHenry Tunnel opening in 1985, the I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial
Bridge-Tunnel opening in 1992, the Route 895 Pocahontas Parkway opening
in 2002, and the first Woodrow Wilson Bridge dedication in 2006. I have
