I have had a quick look at Wikipedia's article on the T-REX expansion,
and also downloaded the T-REX factbook (which is still available
through the Web Archive though the T-REX project website site was
dismantled about six months ago). Now I want to ask a question which
Denver-area road enthusiasts may be able to answer. Does Colorado DOT
have anything in the pipeline for I-25 north of T-REX (i.e., north of
Exit 207A--Broadway) or south of it (i.e., south of Exit 195--SR/
E-470)? If so, what improvements seem likely?

Yes. A bunch. But they have to do it with a phased ROD, due to
uncertain funding. First few projects include reconfiguration of the
I-25/US 85 interchange (where my car got rear-ended last year on my
birthday -- $7,700 damage), and redoing the Sixth Avenue Freeway
interchange at Federal (CO 88)/Bryant Street.

Also, the segment of I-25 from 470 south to Castle Rock was widened
about five years ago, and the segment through Castle Rock is currently
under construction. That leaves the mostly undeveloped area between
Castle Rock and Monument (through which we crept home Sunday night -
who's leaving Denver southbound on Sunday night, anyway?), which will
probably be the last to be widened, and the fast growing area south
from Monument to the north end of the COSMIX at N. Academy in Colorado
Springs.

Speaking of which, an advisory panel is reporting to the Governor
about the $billions in unfunded needs on Colorado highways and trying
to find ways to sell the public on a tax increase or a wave of toll
roads or both. Kevin, are you reporting on that?
