I just moved to Springfield, MO and last night was the first night I
drove late at night, around 1AM or so. They had switched most of the
stoplights along the arterials to blinking yellow (blinking red on the
cross streets) with the only lights still running being those where
two major arterials crossed, like Sunshine at both Campbell and
National.
One of my roommates said that this was also common practice in Lee's
Summit. Are there any other places where the stoplights are set to
blinking at night? Or is it fairly common practice?
Along US 63 in Kirksville, MO the lights go to the blink mode at night
(roughly midnight to 5AM) except at the two junctions with MO 6 and
IIRC the junction with MO 11. Several other towns in MO do this as
well, like Trenton on MO 6.
Springfield, eh? 3 of my guitars and my bass came from there...the
Conklin shop on west Battlefield.
